Arsenal move for Mustafi hits wall with Wenger reluctant to pay £30m valuation

Arsenal are sweating on their proposed £30million move for Shkodran Mustafi after the switch hit complications, reports Daily Mail.

Valencia want £30million for the Germany international, but the Gunners value the centre-back nearer to £20m.

The Spanish club are adamant they won’t let the player leave for anything less than their valuation, though talks between both clubs are ongoing with Arsenal still hopeful of concluding a deal in the coming days.

But, as well as the haggling over a fee, there has been confusion over the agents involved in the deal leading to further delays in the move.

Mustafi’s central defensive parter at Valencia, Aymen Abdennour has been offered to Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger is adamant he wants the German.

West Brom defender Jonny Evans is also on the radar if a move for Mustafi fails.

According reports Mustafi has agreed in principle a five-year deal to join the Emirates Stadium club.

Meanwhile, Wenger’s injury woes have increased with key midfielder Aaron Ramsey fearing he could miss up to three weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in Sunday’s loss to Liverpool.

Wenger’s selection problems should ease this weekend, however, with the returns of key trio Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud.
