Arsenal set to offer Iwobi and Bellerin new contracts

Arsenal are reportedly set to offer in-form pair Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi new contracts with the club.

Bellerin has been linked with Barcelona and Manchester City in recent weeks, while Iwobi has come to the fore during the current campaign.

According to Goal, this has left the Gunners looking to tie down the duo to new long-term extensions to ensure that they stay at the Emirates for the foreseeable future.

Iwobi put pen to paper on a new deal just six months ago, while Bellerin has three years left on his contract, but manager Arsene Wenger has been impressed enough by both to give them pay rises.

Arsenal have recovered after dropping points against both Liverpool and Leicester City to rise to third in the Premier League – and just two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Iwobi and Bellerin have been vital to this, with the Nigeria international grabbing two assists in his five top flight appearances and his Spanish teammate one plus three clean sheets in his seven.

As such, if the north Londoners were able to convince both to commit their future to the club then it would be a major boost to the team.
