Bale: It has been a pleasure to play with Ronaldo and Benzema

Gareth Bale has labelled his time playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema at Real Madrid as a “pleasure”.

The Wales international penned a new contract with Madrid this weekend, extending his stay until 2022.

Since his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, Bale has enjoyed phenomenal success with Los Blancos, having scored the go-ahead goal in the 2013/14 Champions League final – their historic 10th European Cup triumph.

He also struck the winner in the Copa del Rey final of that debut campaign, while helping Madrid to an 11th continental crown last season.

Looking back on his first three years in the Spanish capital, Bale picked out those European nights as the best moments, but also named the chance to play with two teammates in particular as a further highlight.

The No.11 said, as reported by the club’s official website: “Winning the Champions League is a high point. We love the Champions League and do what we can to win everything but the Champions League is special.

“It has been a pleasure to play with Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema over the years and it’s great to play with everyone.

“We have had a lot of success in recent years and we will not stop. We want to win everything we play in.”

The superstar attacking trio are yet to find their incredible form of previous years in the current season, having netted nine goals between them after nine Liga rounds.
