Barca superstars reportedly tell club’s hierarchy to sign Dele Alli

Barcelona’s South American superstars have allegedly informed the Catalan giants of their desire to see Dele Alli brought to the club.

Lionel Messi and Neymar are believed to be big admirers of the Tottenham Hotspur ace, and Diario Gol has claimed that the duo have called on the Copa del Rey winners to “break the bank” to secure his signature ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Alli has already been touted with a possible switch to Barca’s bitter rivals Real Madrid in the past six months, and a potential move to the Nou Camp would be seen as a significant coup by La Blaugrana if they ever beat their rivals to his signing.

As has become the norm in recent seasons on the Iberian peninsula, Barcelona have also been told to wage a war through the tabloids and press to try and turn the 21-year-old’s head and convince him that a transfer to Catalunya would be in his best interests.

It is a ploy that has been used extensively by Real in the past – particularly in their ongoing pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea – and it seems Barca would have no problems with doing likewise to bring one of England’s most talented stars to the continent.

Alli has been a revelation for Spurs since he moved to White Hart Lane two summers ago, with 32 goals and 24 assists registered in almost 100 Tottenham appearances.

His end product, physicality and footballing ability has made him a coveted player across Europe, but Spurs would be resistant to any plausible offers for his services unless serious money was offered.

Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy is known as a shrewd businessman and would drive a hard bargain in any theoretical negotiations for his star man, but the lure of Barcelona could prove to be too strong for Alli to resist if their interest was ever made more concrete.
