Barcelona set to sign Roma star Pjanic

Work is underway ahead of next season for Barcelona, with reports in Italy claiming they will activate Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic’s buyout clause this summer.

After winning the domestic double, Luis Enrique’s side have established themselves as arguably the best team in the world, but they are looking to maintain that status by adding quality to their squad.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Blaugrana will move for the Bosnian, who has made clear his desire to leave the Stadio Olimpico in search of a bigger club.

While the Catalan giants undoubtedly match his personal ambitions, it would be interesting to see how he would fit into the team.

His first challenge would be to usurp Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta, but competition from Arda Turan would be fierce, while Sergi Roberto impressed hugely this season.

Securing a transfer this summer will be top of Pjanic’s priorities, after his country failed to qualify for the European Championship in France.
