Benteke now has more goals against Liverpool at Anfield, than he scored for them

Christian Benteke‘s two goals for Crystal Palace against Liverpool now means the striker has five goals at Anfield as an opposition player, more than he ever scored at the stadium while signed to the Reds.

Benteke scored twice for Sam Allardcye’s side on Sunday to help the Eagles earn an impressive 2-1 win against Liverpool and ease their own relegation fears.

The finishes mean that Benteke has now netted five goals at Anfield for opponents, with his other three during his time at Aston Villa.

And this means, according to Opta, that Benteke has more goals at Liverpool’s home ground with the away team as he does from his time as a player for the Merseyside outfit.

The Belgian netted ten times in all competitions for Liverpool in his only season with the club last year, but only four of those goals came at Anfield for the 26-year-old.

With one more goal as an opponent now it’s clear that Benteke enjoys playing against the Reds – much more than he enjoyed playing for them.
