Bravo backs Manchester City to sign Chile teammate Sanchez

Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has thrown his support behind Pep Guardiola’s attempt to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

The Chilean forward is one of Guardiola’s priority targets for the summer window and City are confident that they can secure a deal for the 28-year-old, who only has one year remaining on his current contract.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are refusing to sell to one of their direct rivals and Arsene Wenger has even suggested that the club are prepared to lose the forward on a free next summer if he refuses to sign a new deal.

During a press conference with Chile’s national team on Friday, Sanchez admitted that he had made up his mind over his future but refused to confirm whether that meant he would be staying at Arsenal.

And when asked about Sanchez potentially joining City, Bravo supported the club’s aim.

‘Who would not want to have Alexis as a partner?’ said the Chilean goalkeeper.

‘He is one of the best players in the world, more than proven with the national side and at club level, breaking all records.’
