Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera believes Chelsea deserve to be top of the Premier League this season.
The Blues have taken the top-flight by storm and have been brushing teams aside, with Antonio Conte’s side losing just three league games this term.
Just one of those has come since October last year and their fantastic run sees them currently nine points clear of rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea’s set of upcoming fixtures certainly hands them a big boost in their pursuit of the title, but for the time being
Herrera believes that no side deserve to be top of the table more than Conte’s men.
“The game that we deserved to lose clearly was Chelsea, so Chelsea so far has been the best team,” Herrera said, as reported by the Mirror. “They are very compact. They are very difficult to beat and they have been clear in the things that they have to do.
“I think they deserve to be first, to be honest.”
Herrera and his teammates witnessed first-hand just how ruthless Chelsea can be, after they were thrashed 4-0 by Conte’s side back in October at Stamford Bridge.
However, Manchester United have bounced back in fine style since then, going 15 games unbeaten – the longest active run across Europe’s top five leagues.
