Chelsea boost as Bakayoko trains ahead of Tottenham clash

Antonio Conte has been handed a timely boost after summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko confirmed he had returned to Chelsea training.

The France international is yet to play a game for Chelsea following his £40million move from Monaco earlier in the summer due to a knee injury.

Nemanja Matic’s departure to Manchester United has left the Blues short of midfield options and Conte’s squad was further depleted at the weekend after Cesc Fabregas was shown red.

The Spaniard has been suspended for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham but Conte received better news regarding 22-year-old Bakayoko.

The former Monaco ace uploaded a picture to Instagram on Tuesday morning accompanied with the caption: ‘Ready for the training session’.

Bakayoko’s message comes shortly after eagle-eyed Chelsea fans appeared to spot the dynamic star training ahead of the Tottenham clash.

The Premier League champions will also be without club captain Gary Cahill against Spurs after he received a straight red card for a late challenge on Steven Defour.

Conte admitted after the shock defeat to Burnley that his side lost their composure after Cahill’s early dismissal.

‘For sure it was a key moment, because after this red card we lost our composure and we conceded three goals and I think we have to improve a lot on this aspect,’ the Italian said.
