Chelsea line up £70m bid for Morata after Lukaku snub

Chelsea are lining up a huge bid to sign Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain.

Morata scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for Madrid last season but the 24-year-old striker is desperate for a move away from the Bernabeu in search of more regular game-time.

The Spain forward seemed on the cusp of joining Manchester United but Jose Mourinho’s side turned their attention to Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian set to move to Old Trafford for a fee of around £75million.

AS suggest the Blues are now focusing on Morata once again and the Premier League giants will make an offer of £70m for the attacker ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

It’s claimed there is a ‘more fluid relationship’ between Madrid and Chelsea which could aid Antonio Conte in landing the former Juve man.

Morata would sign on the dotted line at Stamford Bridge for four or five years.

It’s understood the London outfit have also been eyeing Torino’s Andrea Belotti since Lukaku’s move to United.
