Charly Musonda waited 20 minutes after Real Betis‘ 6-1 hammering at the hands of Real Madrid at the weekend, so he could meet Cristiano Ronaldo.
The attacking midfielder, who is on loan with the La Liga side from Chelsea, didn’t actually take part in the game at the Estadio Benito Villamarín but nothing was going to prevent him from meeting his idol on what was his 20th birthday.
As his side weren’t able to bring home the three points for him to celebrate, he waited long after the final whistle to meet, talk to, take a photo with and receive the shirt Ronaldo wore during the comfortable win on Saturday evening, in which he scored in, as reported by Goal.
Musonda is in his second loan spell with Betis after spending the second half of last season at the club where he scored once and provided the same number of assists in a total of 16 appearances.
This year he has featured in all but one league game but yet to get off the mark for goals, although he had created the joint-highest amount of chances in the squad (8) before the defeat against Los Blancos.
