Chelsea have ‘verbal agreement’ with Juventus for Kwadwo Asamoah

Chelsea have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place to sign Juventus winger Kwadwo Asamoah, reports Daily Express.

Antonio Conte is said to be keen on a reunion with the Ghana international, having signed him for Juve in 2012 from Udinese.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed this month Roman Abramovich is willing to spend up to £20million to sign the 27-year-old.

And according to website CalcioMercatoWeb, the Premier League club have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place for the winger.

The report goes on to say the Blues will complete the deal, claiming negotiations have ‘accelerated’ over the last few days.

Asamoah has spent four seasons at Juve, winning the Serie A title every year, along with three Supercoppa Italiana and one Coppa Italia.

However, the winger has become a fringe player under Massimo Allegri and made just 13 appearances in all competitions this term.

Meanwhile, Juve have been linked with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in recent weeks and will reportedly increase efforts to sign the Chile international once Asamoah’s move picks up.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claimed this month the 27-year-old is open to leaving the Emirates, having previously spent five years in Italy with Udinese.
