Conte makes Chelsea debut with tricky tie against West Ham

Chelsea‘s Premier League fixtures for the 2016/17 season have been announced and they open at home to West Ham United.

The Blues head into the new season with another manager as Antonio Conte takes over as soon as his work with Italy has finished at Euro 2016, becoming their third boss in under a year.

Jose Mourinho was sacked midway through last season after losing nine of his opening 16 games of the club’s title defence and the Blues placed Guus Hiddink in temporary charge until the end of the season.

Conte is set to spend a lot of money in bringing in a new raft of talent to make this squad his own, setting up an exciting debut season at Stamford Bridge.

It all kicks-off when he faces West Ham on the opening day of the season before facing Watford away the following week.

Conte will lock horns with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho when the Stamford Bridge club face Manchester United on October 22 at home before facing them away April 15.

The Italian will also kick-start a new battle with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger when the two meet at the Emirates Stadium on September 24.

Meanwhile, games against Tottenham Hotspur come on November 26 and January 2 and Conte will come up against Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool for the first time on September 17.

Finally, arguably the biggest managerial name in the world, Pep Guardiola, will test Conte’s skills in the Premier League for the first time when they meet on December 3 at the Etihad.
