Conte reveals Chelsea players ignored his methods at first

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that his players ignored him and his video sessions when he first took over at Stamford Bridge this season.

The former Juventus and Italy boss has made a superb start to life in England, with his Chelsea side on course to win the Premier League title after opening up a nine-point lead at the top of the table.

However, Conte may have initially struggled to make an impression on his team, with the Italian admitting that they seemed to switch off in sessions dedicated to analysing games on video.

‘Honestly, my players, they are not used to it,’ he told the Premier League Show.

‘At the start we found a bit of difficulty because after five minutes, ten minutes… [They get bored? – to which Conte nods]

‘Very difficult but then when we started to see in the right way. When we watch the game, not to find who is the fault because we conceded a goal, no. Only to improve.

‘The most important thing for me is to be a team. Every single player must put their talent into the team.’
