David Luiz: I can’t wait to wear the Chelsea shirt once again

David Luiz can’t wait to wear the Chelsea shirt once again after sealing his £32million return to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian defender rejoins the Premier League outfit two years after leaving for Paris Saint-Germain and has put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Luiz, who won the Champions League, Europa League and the FA Cup during his first stint at the Blues, is delighted to have returned to west London.

‘I’m delighted to return to Chelsea. We had a fantastic story during my first time at the club and I want to help the team and Antonio Conte achieve a lot of success,’ he told the club’s website.

‘I always had a wonderful relationship with the fans and I am looking forward to wearing the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge once again.’

Luiz arrived at St Pancras railway station in London on Wednesday afternoon to finalise his £32million move back to Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old looked in high spirits as he prepared to put the final touches on his deadline day move back to the Blues.

Luiz, dressed in a white t-shirt and black jeans, appeared to be listening to music as he strolled through St Pancras after arriving in London via the Eurostar.

The Blues are believed to have agreed a fee in the region of £32m with Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian.

Chelsea had confirmed the imminent move on Wednesday afternoon by tweeting: ‘Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London.

‘The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.’

The Brazilian later changed his Twitter profile picture and cover photo to coincide with his move back to west London.
