De Bruyne’s agent: My client is not like Oscar – he has no interest in China move

Manchester City winger Kevin De Bruyne will not be moving to China anytime soon, with his agent aiming a dig at Oscar‘s recent switch to Shanghai SIPG.

Chelsea and Shanghai SIPG agreed terms earlier this week for Oscar’s reported £60 million move to the Chinese Super League club in the January transfer window.

Many have questioned Oscar’s motive for leaving the Premier League at the mere age of 25, but the Brazil international is in line to earn a reportedly staggering £400,000 a week.

The Chinese Super League is slowly attracting more and more international footballers, but when asked whether De Bruyne would ever consider a move there, his agent refuted it categorically.

“My friends have asked me the question, ‘what if there is a bid from China for Kevin De Bruyne?’. Right now I would never advise him to go there. Money is one thing. Loving your job, that’s important,” Patrick De Koster told Sporza.

“It’s an interesting story for mature players who can go and earn massively there.

“If I was the manager Oscar, I’m not sure I’d recommend it to him. You’re running the risk of falling into oblivion.

“But on the other side, if after four years in oblivion you end up with 160 million to your account, maybe that’s not so bad.”

De Bruyne himself has been on the move quite a lot in his short career, after a spell with boyhood club Genk was followed up with switches to Chelsea, Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and then current club Manchester City in 2015.
