Enyimba International Football Club will not be affected by the cold weather in Sousse on matchday against Etoile du Sahel, according to Ikechi Okoro, the team’s kit manager.

Speaking today at the Aba Elephants Hotel Habib base in Monastir, Okoro said that the team had purchased the latest thermal underwear to keep the players warm during the potentially explosive 90minute encounter.

“We have proper thermal underwear to keep the boys warm. Cold will not be a factor at all. Besides, these are some of the most talented and most experienced players in the NPFL who have played in different climatic conditions in Nigeria and Africa. There won’t be a problem in Sousse.”
Enyimba’s opponents Etoile du Sahel had changed the kick off time from 6pm to 7pm local time on Wednesday ‎when temperatures are expected to be around 16 degrees Celsius.

“They never informed us of the change in timing. We only got to know when we arrived in Monastir,” said Enyimba International chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu. “But we are not perturbed by their antics. We have arranged our own accommodation, security and transportation.”

Enyimba will have their second training session later this evening at 7pm.
