Griezmann hints at PSG move in blow to Man United

Antoine Griezmann has fuelled rumours he would prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain over Manchester United after he admitted it would be a dream to play alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

United’s hopes of capturing the forward last summer came shuddering to a halt when he penned a new contract which will keep him at Wanda Metropolitano until 2022.

Despite Griezmann’s new deal, the 26-year-old has revealed that the prospect of becoming part of Unai Emery’s vaunted strike force would appeal to him.

When asked by Telefoot whether it would be a dream to link up with PSG’s star duo of Neymar and Mbappe, the Atletico star simply replied: ‘Yes.’

Griezmann gave United fans hope of a potential switch during the last transfer window when he candidly rated his chances of joining the Red Devils at six out of 10.

But he now appears to have poured cold water over the idea of a move to Old Trafford.

When asked whether he spoke to United boss Mourinho — who is a huge admirer of the France international — on the phone regularly, Griezmann answered: ‘No.’

After a sensational campaign last term, the Atletico talisman has failed to hit the ground running in the same vein in this.

With just three goals in 13 outings for the Madrid outfit so far this season, Griezmann will hope to rekindle his form of old in order to mount a challenge on early La Liga pace-setters Barcelona.
