Griezmann representative confirms Man United and Chelsea transfer approaches

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the five clubs to have inquired about sealing the transfer of Antoine Griezmann, his adviser has confirmed.

The Atletico Madrid forward split with his agent at the start of the season, with his father and mentor Eric Olhats trusted with taking care of his future.

Griezmann’s superb form this season has continued to see him linked with a host of top clubs around Europe, though United have been most strongly tipped as his next destination.

Still, Olhats has told RMC that Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been in touch about landing him, and that the Red Devils’ likely lack of Champions League football could be a factor in deciding where the player goes next.

‘Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real have inquired,’ he said.

‘There are not 50,000 clubs that can put 100 million on the table,’ he added. ‘This is the price of the (release) clause, they will not make a gift. It restricts the number of current candidates.

‘I heard that Manchester United (had an agreement) but we do not even know if they will play the Champions League!

‘Manchester United, they took information, like all the others. They came to know what is our state of mind, the mindset of the player, if there are possibilities … but it seems logical. Chelsea, Manchester City.’
