Griezmann wants to be made the Premier League’s highest paid player

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann would reportedly demand a contract worth around £77 million over five years if he is to leave the club this summer.

The France international, who has scored 25 goals and made 11 assists in all competitions this season, has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

As reported by the Daily Mail, United will have to match Griezmann’s wage demands of €350,000 per week, which equates to £295,000 per week, if they are to lure the attacker to Old Trafford.

In addition to his substantial wages, United would also have to pay a transfer fee that is higher than the £76 million buyout clause in Griezmann’s current contract.

If Griezmann did join United then he would certainly help to address the team’s lack of ruthlessness in front of goal. However, he has provided fewer assists and completed less take-ons than Anthony Martial this season.
