Guardiola: Aguero can leave Manchester City if he wants

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insists it will be Sergio Aguero‘s decision if he wants to leave the club.

Aguero is currently regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and reportedly earns £150,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium.

Since moving to Manchester City, Aguero has netted a stunning 145 goals in 213 games across all competitions, but he was surprisingly left out on the bench for the Champions League game at Barcelona on Wednesday.

It came after Aguero missed a penalty against Everton just days earlier and one that surprised many supporters, as Manchester City were thrashed 4-0 at the Nou Camp.

However, Guardiola has explained his decision as to why he left out Aguero and says if the Argentina international decides to leave then it will be his choice.

“I spoke with Sergio – he was very understanding and helped us from the bench,” Guardiola told reporters on Friday. “When Sergio decides to leave it will be his decision.”

Aguero started the season in fine form with five goals in the first few rounds of fixtures, but has not netted since the 24th September in the top- flight.
