Guardiola and Ancelotti set to clash in their first games in charge of Man City and Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola’s first game in charge of Manchester City will be againstformer employers Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on July 20.

It comes five days before facing old adversary José Mourinho in Beijing, which until now was expected to be his debut in the City dugout.

However, it will be an immediate return to Bavaria, which also serves as hissuccessor Carlo Ancelotti’s inauguration.

“Our fans will certainly extend an enthusiastic welcome to our new coach,Carlo Ancelotti, and create a fantastic atmosphere in his new living room,”Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on the club’s official website.

“We’re also happy to welcome Pep Guardiola and his new team back to Munich so
soon.”

Ancelotti has big shoes to fill at Bayern with Guardiola having won his third successive Bundesliga title with the club last season.

Guardiola’s overall top-flight record now stands at six league titles in seven seasons, though he was unable to claim the Champions League title during his time in Germany.

City, who reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history this year, will be hoping the Spaniard can go further with them.

Guardiola will be rekindling his rivalry with Jose Mourinho in the Premier League next season, with the new Manchester United manager set to bring added clout to the derby next season.

The pair will find out when they will face up against each other in the top flight on June 15, when the fixtures for the 2016/17 season will be released.
