Harry Kane asks everyone to stay calm after England’s victory over Germany

England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has called for there to be calm after the Three Lions’ thrilling 3-2 victory over Germany on Saturday night, reminding fans it was only a friendly and they need to concentrate on their next game against Holland.

Roy Hodgson’s charges came from two goals down against the world champions to stage a miraculous comeback thanks to goals from Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier, which cancelled out earlier efforts from Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez.

Kane is insisting that England are not going to get carried away with the result as nothing was on the line in the match and that they have another important game to look forward to in just a few days.

“We are all buzzing – credit to the lads because we never gave in and what a night,” Kane told the FA’s official website. “But everyone needs to stay calm – it’s a friendly.

“It’s a great night for England, 2-0 down against the world champions and coming back shows what kind of a team we are. But we just need to keep doing what we are doing, there’s another important game on Tuesday and we go from there.

“We played brilliantly and I thought we fully deserved the win. We had a lot of chances and on another day, we probably could have scored a few more.”

The goal, which saw Kane emulate the late great Johan Cruyff with a Cruyff- turn in the area, was the 22-year-old’s fourth goal in nine games for England and continues his fine scoring run in the Premier League for Spurs.

Kane, who shot to fame last season thanks a remarkable season under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, has now scored 21 goals in the Premier League, the most in the entire division.

However, whether he will receive the opportunity to continue his good form on Tuesday night remains to be seen. Hodgson has stated that he will use the match against the Netherlands to field some of the England players who didn’t feature against Germany on Saturday.
