Harry Kane Hoping Manchester United can do Tottenham a favour

Harry Kane is hopeful that Manchester United can do Tottenham Hotspur a “favour” by beating Leicester City this Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were held to a surprise 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Monday, after Craig Dawson cancelled out his own goal to rescue a point for Tony Pulis’ team.

It was a big blow for Spurs and Pochettino after league leaders Leicester City had thrashed Swansea City 24 hours earlier by four goals to nil.

The gap between Leicester and Spurs is now seven points, and it could all come to an end this coming Sunday when the Foxes face Manchester United at Old Trafford.

A win for Claudio Ranieri’s side would guarantee the title, but Kane is hopeful Louis van Gaal’s high-flying United team can help them out and delay the process.

“It has not gone. We need to keep fighting,” Kane told reporters, as reported by the Daily Express. “We felt we needed to win this game so we are disappointed. We had enough chances in the first half to put it to bed. But we weren’t good enough in the second half.

“We felt we could easily have won the game if we played in the second half like we did the first. It is football. All we can do is keep fighting. We have Chelsea next. Hopefully Man United can do us a favour.”

Spurs still have their own business to take care of with Pochettino’s side facing a tricky away fixture at Chelsea a day after Leicester’s match.

While Leicester may struggle to get the three points they need to win the title this coming Sunday at Old Trafford, many feel it is only a matter of time before Ranieri’s side are crowned champions of England.
