Hazard: Chelsea not winning the Premier League will be like PSG collapsing against Barcelona

Eden Hazard claimed if Chelsea lost their 10 point advantage at the top of the league it would be as much of an upset as PSG’s 6-1 capitulation against Barcelona.

Chelsea already have one hand on the Premier League trophy, leading by a sizeable margin with only 11 games left in the campaign.

But the Blues star iterated that the improbable certainly is possible, and likened their position at the top to PSG’s four-goal lead they took in to the second leg of the Champions League last-16.

‘But you saw what happened in the Camp Nou, Barcelona,’ Hazard told The Telegraph, recalling Barcelona’s heroics as they overturned the deficit to reach the quarter-finals.

‘I think if we don’t win the title this season it’s something like PSG; the same feeling. Because, you know, you win 4-0 at home and then you think that you can go through.

‘If we don’t win the title this season it will be something of the same feeling because we have the opportunity to win so we have to. But don’t think too early about the title, think game after game.’

But Hazard and his team will have to put aside talk of the league when they come up against Manchester United in a mouth- watering FA Cup tie on Monday.

Jose Mourinho has reversed his side’s fortunes since the 4-0 drubbing by Chelsea in the league back in October to power into the second half of the season.

United have won the EFL Cup, shot up the league and are still fighting on the European front in the Europa League.

And Hazard is all too wary that the United side they welcome to Stamford Bridge on Monday will pose a different threat to the team which last visited.

‘One month ago I told people that I thought United will be the best team in the second half of the season,’ Hazard added.

‘Because they started slow, and then they have great players, a great manager, and they know what to do. OK, sometimes at home, they have lost some games or drawn, but they are in a good form.

‘They had a long trip [to Rostov in the Europa League]. I expect a good game from them. They want revenge because we won at home 4-0.’

‘I never won [the FA Cup] so I want to win it. It’s the oldest cup so I know for the fans it’s really important, for the players also because in the last 10 years Chelsea have won it four times.’
