Hazard reveals good luck text message to Mourinho after Man United appointment

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has revealed he sent Jose Mourinho a good luck message after his former manager was appointed at Manchester United.

Mourinho was sacked from the Blues in December – after losing nine of 16 league games – and replaced by Guus Hiddink before the appointment of Antonio Conte, leaving Mourinho as a a free agent to join United as Louis van Gaal’s successor.

The 25-year-old says he wished Mourinho luck in his new role and admits he wants him to win some games, with United having won five of their 12 games this season.

“I sent him a message just to say good luck,” Hazard said, as reported by Daily Express.

“I hope he can win some games. But not too much because we want Chelsea to be champions!

“I want him to be at the top again.”

Hazard is on great form for Antonio Conte’s side this season with seven goals in 12 league appearances, already more than the four goals he netted last season, and won Premier League Player of the Month for October.

Chelsea secured their sixth consecutive win without conceding against Middlesbrough on Sunday, after Conte switched to a three-man defense system following their defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool.

Currently top of the Premier League, Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
