‘My heart is with you’ – Cantona pays moving tribute to his beloved Manchester

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has released a heartfelt message expressing solidarity with the victims of the Manchester Arena attack victims.

An explosion rocked the city on Monday evening when a bomb was let off at the end of a concert by pop star Ariana Grande at the Manchester Arena.

Greater Manchester Police has confirmed 22 people were killed and 59 injured in an attack that has shocked the world.

In the wake of the incident, Uefa accepted United’s formal request to cancel their press conference ahead of the Europa League final, while the team held a minute’s silence at training before flying to Sweden.

Cantona became a hero in Manchester as he helped inspire the club’s return to success in the 1990s, and the former United captain released a video via Eurosport expressing his love for the city and for England in the wake of the attack.

“I think deeply to the victims, to the wounded persons, kids, teenagers, adults, to their families, to their friends, to all of you, all of us,” he said.

“I think to this city, Manchester, and Mancunians that I love deeply. I think to this country, England, and the English that I love deeply.

“I suffer with you, my heart is with you, I always feel close to you.”
