Herrera: Ibrahimovic didn’t speak in the dressing room following Man United draw

Ander Herrera lifted the lid on the despondent mood in Manchester United‘s dressing room following their 0-0 draw with Burnley, revealing Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn’t “say anything”.

United have endured a worryingly poor run of form in recent weeks, winning just one of their last seven Premier League games, but the latest result against Sean Dyche’s men at Old Trafford on Saturday was arguably the most frustrating, as they completely dominated the clash.

Tom Heaton performed heroics in the Burnley goal to keep United, and Ibrahimovic in particular, at bay, while Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands and Herrera received a red card. Their poor form has seemingly coincided with the 35-year-old’s lack of goals in recent weeks, after he made a stunning start to life in the Premier League.

Herrera revealed the level of disappointment and anger in United’s dressing room in the immediate aftermath of the game, noting Ibrahimovic’s reaction to the result.

“We have to say we still have one of the best strikers in the world and his attitude, his character are top,” the Spanish international told the Independent. “He did not say anything in the dressing room because today was not the day to speak.

“The dressing room was completely disappointed because of the way we played. There were no words. I am not going to be able to sleep for sure because I am going to have those missed chances in my head.”

Ibrahimovic has scored four goals and created 14 chances in 10 Premier League appearances this term, with a shot accuracy of 49%, as the Red Devils sit eighth on 15 points, seven adrift of the top four.

Next up for them is an away clash at Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night, before taking on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
