REPORT: Higuain on the verge of sealing stunning Liverpool move

Liverpool are on the brink of securing a deal for Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.

The Napoli striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months with Jurgen Klopp said to be a big fan.

And according to BeIN Sports [via The Sun], a deal is close to being finalised.

Higuain netted 36 goals in 35 league appearances last term, breaking a 66- year goalscoring record for the most goals in a Serie A campaign.

Jose Mourinho has been keen to bring Higuain to Old Trafford as he looks to land a marquee signing, but reports last month claimed Higuain was keen to work under Klopp instead.

Higuain is under contract until 2018 but is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield.

The 28-year-old was in action for Argentina against Chile in last night’s Copa America match and Klopp was reportedly in the stands to watch the game.

Klopp is set to bring in a host of fresh talent this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

The Reds are without European football but are still hoping to land some big players.

According to the Daily Mail Liverpool are still pursuing Mario Gotze.

The Merseyside outfit reportedly had scouts present at Germany’s 2-0 friendly win over Hungry on Saturday to cast an eye on the midfielder.
