Inter Milan accept Chelsea’s £25m bid for Brozovic

Chelsea have had a bid of €25 million accepted for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to reports.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the Croatia international and it now appears that a deal could be completed before Wednesday night’s transfer deadline, as reported by Goal.

Brozovic could be sold after Inter signed Joao Mario from Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to add more energy and aggression in midfield.

Chelsea have yet to agree personal terms with Brozovic, who is demanding a major wage increase as part of the move.

A neat distributor of the ball, Brozovic has an average pass accuracy of 76% in Serie A this season and if the move goes ahead then he would become Chelsea’s fourth major signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of N’Golo Kante, Michy Batshuayi and Eduardo.

Chelsea still hope to be active before the transfer market closes on Wednesday and are plundering Serie A at the behest of their Italian manager.

They are expected to complete the signing of left back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina for £23m and are still in pursuit of a central defender.

Chelsea have made an encouraging start to the campaign, with their 3-0 triumph over Burnley ensuring that Conte’s side have prevailed in each of their three Premier League fixtures so far this season.

The Blues have also progressed into the third round of the EFL Cup, and the early signs suggest that Chelsea are moving in the right direction under Conte after enduring a miserable 2015/16 campaign that culminated in them finishing in 10th place.
