Klopp: Pogba and Ibrahimovic have made Man Utd heavyweights

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits that Manchester United boast a fantastic squad, and believes Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s arrivals have made them much stronger.

The Reds take on their fierce rivals on Monday night at Anfield, a ground where the Red Devils got the better of Klopp last season when Louis van Gaal was in charge.

Liverpool also lost the away fixture earlier on in the season when Brendan Rodgers was in charge, meaning it will be the first time Klopp and Jose Mourinho meet as managers of the two teams.

Whilst Liverpool bolstered heavily over the summer, Mourinho spent nearly £100 million on one player alone in Pogba.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic came in on a free from Paris Saint-Germain and has struck four times in the league this season, and Klopp is wary of the pair – as well as the rest of Man Utd’s team.

When asked about the difference between Man Utd’s squad from last season to this term, Klopp told reporters on Friday: “Ibrahimovic was not there, Pogba… it’s not possible to talk to journalists about it because they won’t (say what I say).

“They are both world class players, when they’re in your team they are not worst than last year, for sure.

“Unfortunately this is a really strong side from Manchester, they know about football, they’re experienced, cool in the right moments. They don’t need world class performances to win a game.

“Even on rainy days, it’s possible to score and win – they have those types in the team, but it doesn’t mean they will win the game. It just means they have a chance.”

Liverpool are the side that head into the game full of confidence, following four straight league wins in the Premier League.
