Lampard: Chelsea will be unstoppable if they keep performing like this

Frank Lampard believes that Chelsea will be “unstoppable” if they keep up their recent performances, following yet another excellent victory on Monday night.

Antonio Conte’s men have been in fantastic form this season, losing just three Premier League fixtures ahead of their meeting with West Ham United at the London Stadium. The Hammers beat their fierce London rivals last time out in the EFL Cup, winning their fourth round tie 2-1, but Monday was a different story.

Chelsea produced an impressive display on the night, as they beat West Ham 2-1 thanks to goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. Conte’s men restricted the hosts to very few chances, despite Manuel Lanzini’s injury-time consolation, looking to move further ahead in this season’s Premier League title-race.

Speaking after the game, club legend Lampard hailed their performance at the London Stadium, claiming they could be an unstoppable force in the latter stages of the campaign.

“If they keep performing like that they will be unstoppable,” he told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football coverage.

“They defended well and countered well. It’s not about dominating football matches at this stage of the season, it’s about gettingresults.

“They went to West Ham, where we thought it would be difficult, and they produced a dominant, professional performance.”

Chelsea have scored 57 goals and conceded 20 in their 27 Premier League fixtures this season, with a shot accuracy of 48%, as they sit top on 66 points, 10 clear of Tottenham Hotspur in second.

Next up for them is a home clash with Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday night, before taking on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
