Liverpool become the first Premier League team to win away at 50 different grounds

By beating Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday, Liverpool became the first side in Premier League history to win at 50 away grounds.

Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino were on the scoresheet for the Reds just before half-time. Despite several appeals for handball inside the Liverpool penalty box and a late goal from Joshua King, they held on to seal the three points.

It was a record-breaking victory, as well as the third in a week for the Reds, as they became the first side in Premier League history to win at 50 away stadiums, according to Opta.

Jurgen Klopp is slowly seeing results at Liverpool and his youthful, much- changed side did well against a Bournemouth team who went into the game on Sunday having won four of their previous six league matches.

For the Reds, Sheyi Ojo was back in the line-up after making his first start in the league the Sunday prior at home to Stoke City. Meanwhile, Connor Randall and Danny Ward were also handed their first Premier League starts by Klopp.

Liverpool now sit in eighth in the table and nine points off fourth-placed Arsenal. Their chances of finishing in the top four are all but gone despite having a game in hand on the Gunners, although a win in their spare fixture would take them above West Ham into sixth.

With nothing much to lose, Klopp has tried out younger players while resting his stars for the Europa League. They face Villarreal in the semi-finals in just over a week.
