On-loan Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao enjoys skiing holiday with his family

While many of his colleagues will be preparing themselves for a busy week of international football, Radamel Falcao has been occupied with plans of his own.

Swapping the green grass of Chelsea’s Cobham training centre for a family skiing holiday, the on-loan striker was the picture of happiness, as he braved the snowy elements alongside his wife and children.

The forward and his Argentinian singer partner Lorelei Taron, updated their Instagram accounts, appearing very much in love as they made the most off their time away from London.

Falcao, who has been sidelined since October and then suffered a recurrence of a long-standing knee injury in December, has struggled again for form and fitness, scoring only once in his 11 outings and endured similar frustrations while at Manchester United, finding the net only four times.

Despite not featuring in the Premier League for four months, the Colombian’s salary is staggering, earning a reported £140,000 a week during his time with the Blues.

Prior to his spell in England, the 30-year-old was with French side Monaco and Vadim Vasilyev, the Ligue 1 club’s vice president, has admitted they are open to bringing the former Atletico Madrid man back to Monte Carlo.

‘We thought about bringing him back in January, but he was injured,’ he said.

‘We’ll see what happens at the end of the season. We won’t exclude the possibility of him coming back to the club in the summer.’

Watching from the stands, Falcao saw his side come from behind to salvage a point against West Ham and despite returning to train, Hiddink admitted he needs convincing that he is ‘competitive’ enough to be included in the squad.

‘Falcao has had a very difficult time with long injuries. He has recovered physically and now he has to regain his physical fitness, Hiddink said.

‘He is training now for 10 days with the first team and we will see after the break if he is competitive. We have to see how he reacts to the more physical training.’
