Madrid want to sign Liverpool talisman Salah, according to Egypt boss Hector Cuper

Real Madrid are interested in signing Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, according to the players national coach.

Egypt manager Hector Cuper says he has confirmation that the La Liga giants are eyeing a possible move, with the attacker impressing with his goal-scoring form.

Salah is currently the top scorer in the Premier League, with 12 goals already to his name this season.

Speaking to Egyptian broadcaster ON Sport TV, Cuper said: ‘I’ve received confirmed news revealing Real Madrid’s interest in Salah, but let’s not rush things.

‘To me, he is in an amazing position right now.’

Madrid are currently looking for new additions after an uninspiring start to the new campaign.

Zinedine Zidane’s side sit fourth in the Spanish top-flight and were frustrated to a goalless draw in Saturday’s match against Athletic Bilbao.

And, with Gareth Bale still struggling with yet another injury, Salah could prove to be a more than worthy replacement for the Welshman.

Salah continued his electric form against Brighton on Saturday, setting up the third goal in the 5-1 demolition at the Amex Stadium.

The 25-year-old provided a wonderful assist for Roberto Firmino and proved a constant threat to Brighton’s resolve.

Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to keep hold of his star man in January with fellow midfielder Philippe Coutinho looking increasingly likely to leave the Anfield club.
