Malouda: Mourinho has brought winners to “dangerous” Man United

Jose Mourinho has brought winners to Manchester United in the summer transfer window and the team will be “dangerous” in the Premier League this season, according to Florent Malouda.

The Portuguese manager took the helm before overseeing the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window.

United have subsequently got off to flying start, with the new signings influential in winning the Community Shield and the first three games of the Premier League season, and Malouda thinks his former manager has gone about his business extremely well.

“When you see the players United have brought in, they are winners,” he told The Mirror.

“With Zlatan, you must respect what he has done in France. When you see what Paul Pogba has done at the age of 23 at Juventus, it is impressive.

“They will be very dangerous in the Premier League: They have top winners from the manager through to the players. People with great character – they are not scared of pressure and maybe that is what was missing.”

Malouda was signed by Mourinho at Chelsea, knows first-hand how the charismatic manager works and thinks the signs are ominous for the Blues and the rest of the challengers in the top flight.

Ibrahimovic scored the winner in the Community Shield before netting three goals in three league games as United made an 100 per cent start to the season.

Bailly has settled incredibly well into central defence following his £30m move from Villarreal, while Pogba’s world-record £89m is extremely exciting for United fans.

While Mkhitaryan is yet to make such an impact, he is clearly an outstanding creative player in his own right and adds further to the dominance United could show this season.

United have picked up wins over Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull City, but face a much sterner test when they take on rivals Manchester City in the derby at Old Trafford on Saturday.
