Man Utd set to make €45m bid for Felipe Anderson

Manchester United are ready to offer €45m for Lazio’s Felipe Anderson in the
January transfer window, according to Forza Italian Football.

The Brazilian winger has been at Lazio since 2013 and is arguably the club’s
key player, scoring 10 goals and creating 35 chances last season as the Rome
giants finished third in Serie A.

The source claims that the No.10 has been on United’s radar for some time
but, with Lazio reluctant to sell such an important talent, the fee demanded
is likely to be high.

La Repubblica are reporting that United are now prepared to meet Lazio’s €45m
(£33m) asking price to bolster their attacking options for the second half of
the season.

Anderson has created 12 chances in what has been a poor season so far for
Lazio. Only Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata have created more for
the Red Devils in 2015/16.

The shortcomings of Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard on the United flanks have
the side lacking a flying winger to provide chances for the struggling strike
force.

United’s lack of goal threat has been evident in their recent form, with the
Red Devils scoring just two goals in their last five league games – a run
which is part of an eight-match winless streak in all competitions.

Only three Premier League sides have created fewer chances this season than
Louis van Gaal’s men (146) and the side seem in desperate need of attacking
impetus if they are to arrest their current slump.

The report also claims that United would prefer to sign Real Madrid star
James Rodriguez, though Anderson represents a far more realistic target.
