Manchester United commit €200m to Pogba deal

Manchester United are ready to firm up their interest in long-term target Paul Pogba by offering a deal in excess of €200 million to secure their man.

At his official unveiling on Tuesday, new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho hinted that he was still in the market for one further addition to follow Mhkitaryan into his squad, and that player is Pogba, according to the British press.

The Sun report that United chiefs are willing to pay a fee of around €117m to Juve for his signature, with a salary of €91m spread over five years also proposed to the player.

Although the Frenchman has experienced a mixed Euro 2016 to date, his stock remains incredibly high in the world game and any potential transfer would be seen as a major statement of intent from the Premier League club.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the Les Bleus talisman, however, the Manchester side are the first ones to lodge a concrete offer for the 23-year-old.

Now it looks as though Pogba, who left the Red Devils in 2012 after a dispute over a new contract, could return to his former team this summer.

The prodigiously talented midfielder scored 34 goals and made 43 assists in 178 appearances for Juventus, and is in line to start for France in tonight’s European Championship semi-final against Germany.
