Mancini keen on bringing Yaya Toure and Zabaleta to Inter

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is eyeing up a potential double-swoop on his former club Manchester City for experienced duo Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta.

Mancini, who spent four years in charge of the Citizens and led them to the Premier League title in 2012, is looking to bolster his ranks further this summer after he made significant changes last year.

Meanwhile, there are suggestions that Pep Guardiola – the Spaniard is set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad this summer – will look to overhaul the City squad by getting rid of some ageing players.

The Daily Mail now reports that Toure and Zabaleta are both likely to leave and Mancini is keen to bring in the pair, who both excelled under his stewardship in England.

Toure’s future at Manchester City looks extremely bleak for the time being, with it well-documented that the 32-year-old and Guardiola do not see eye to eye from their days together at Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Zabaleta has struggled with injuries over the last year or so, and the Argentina international turned 31 just last month.

The Mail goes on to report that Zabaleta is unsure about his future in the North West, particularly with his contract at the club running out in 2017.

Inter Milan’s early season form has dipped in recent weeks and their 3-3 draw at Hellas Verona last week leaves them in fourth place – 11 points behind leaders Napoli.
