Martial responds to Manchester United exit rumours on Instagram

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial responded to speculation linking him with a move to La Liga today by posting a photo of the club’s crest on Instagram.

Speculation has been rife that the 20-year-old could leave Old Trafford in January following comments made by his agent this morning that said his representatives were considering an approach from Sevilla.

Martial was United’s top scorer last season, when he netted 17 times during his debut campaign.

However, he’s out of favour under Jose Mourinho, who has urged the youngster to follow Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s lead if he’s to regain his spot in the side.

United’s official stance is that they’re unwilling to listen to offers – be it loan or permanent – for Martial and the Frenchman appears happy to stay at Old Trafford if today’s Instagram story is anything to go by.

The Frenchman uploaded a photo of the club’s badge with two emojis and the caption ‘Training’.

Mourinho’s side host Middlesbrough on New Year’s Eve at Old Trafford, before taking on West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium 48 hours later.

After making a substitute appearance in the side’s 3-1 win against Sunderland on Boxing Day, Martial will be hoping to start at least one of the fixtures.
