Mata: Man United need to get the best out of Ibrahimovic

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata revealed how the club can get the best out of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season.

Despite scoring his sixth goal of the campaign on Thursday night against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League, Mata thinks there’s more to come from the 34-year-old Swede.

The former Chelsea playmaker has now revealed how they can help improve Ibrahimovic’s game.

“We have to run behind him because we need depth in the game,” the 28-year- old told MUTV (via the Mirror). “He gives a lot as a striker and he gives a lot when he comes to play as a midfielder as well. We have to take advantage of that.”

Ibrahimovic joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and has impressed ever since, establishing himself as a vital part of Jose Mourinho’s side.

However he had several opportunities to score against Stoke City on Sunday, but failed to capitalise on his chances. He’s now gone three matches in the Premier League without a goal, after bagging four in his first four. Although he’s created eight chances for his teammates, Ibrahimovic is yet to register an assist.

Mata will hope to use the international break to work with his new teammate before they face arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield in two weeks’ time.
