Messi voted the best in the world by Bundesliga players

The players of the German Bundesliga have chosen Barcelona’s Lionel Messi as the best player in world football.

The Argentina international took 47.7% of the vote, ahead of second placed Cristiano Ronaldo with 29.8%.

German magazine Kicker noted that Neymar took 4.3% of the vote, with Luis Suarez on 3.8%.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic obtained 3.4%, with the Bundesliga’s own Robert Lewandowski taking just 2.1%.

In another question, regarding which German player is most likely to win the Ballon d’Or in the coming years, Thomas Muller is considered the favourite with 26.8% of the vote.

12.8% of the voters did not believe that the German player has the potential to do so, with Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer receiving 8.5% of support, and domestic teammate Jerome Boateng getting 8.1%.
