Mkhitaryan makes Champions League win with Manchester United his next goal

Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed that he is determined to fulfil his dream of winning the Champions League next season.

Mkhitaryan helped United to win the Europa League in his first campaign at the club and the Armenia international is now switching his focus to Europe’s elite club competition.

Mkhitaryan told RGRU (via MEN): “As a child I had a dream – to win the Uefa Cup or the Champions League.

“One of the goals I have achieved.

“In general, each of my next seasons should be better than the last. You could say that’s my main goal.”

Having undergone an adaptation period following his move from Borussia Dortmund, Mkhitaryan demonstrated some encouraging signs last season as he scored eleven goals in all competitions and completed 84% of his attempted passes in the Premier League.

Capable of performing effectively whether deployed as a winger or an attacking midfielder, the 28-year-old will be hoping to be more consistent next campaign as United look to win further silverware under Jose Mourinho.

United are already taking steps to improve their squad for next season, with defender Victor Lindelof joining from Benfica and further arrivals likely to follow in the near future.
