Mourinho celebrates Portugal winning Euro 2016 in his pyjamas

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has posted a celebratory of picture on Instagram after Portugal won the European Championships.

Portugal had to deal with an early injury set-back, as captain and talisman Cristiano Ronaldo had to go off with a knee injury in the first-half.

However they defended resolutely and in the second-half of extra-time they found the winner thanks to a strike from outside of the area from Lille forward Eder.

Mourinho, who made his name in his native Portugal, posted this picture on Instagram at full-time.

He managed Porto to a similar underdog success in 2004, when he led them to the Champions League in that season but he has never managed his national team.

He has insinuated in the past that one day he would maybe like to manage his country but now he will have to deal with the fact Fernando Santos is the manager who led Portugal to their first ever international tournament.

Portugal only won just one game in 90 minutes during the tournament, with three draws in the group stages and then extra-time wins over Croatia and France, as well as penalties against Poland.

They have also made amends for the 2004 side who lost the tournament on home soil against Greece.
