Neymar ‘appears to bid farewell to Real Madrid players’

Neymar stoked the speculation surrounding his future after spending 15 minutes in Real Madrid’s dressing room following Barcelona’s 3-2 victory in Miami.

The Brazilian, who has been strongly linked with a £196million move to Paris Saint-Germain, got the shirts of Sergio Ramos and Casemiro on Saturday night as he appeared to bid farewell to his club’s foes, according to reports in Spain.

The 25-year-old was also filmed by broadcaster Ncuatro spending time with former Real Madrid and Brazil striker Julio Baptista after the game at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Neymar assisted twice in what could be his last El Clasico as Lionel Messi, Ivan Rakitic and Gerard Pique got the goals for Ernesto Valverde’s men.

If these are the last images of Neymar as a Barcelona player then Ramos believes that can only be a good thing for his team-mates and manager Zinedine Zidane.

Speaking to reporters in the aftermath of the game, Ramos gave a diplomatic answer when asked about his thoughts on the future of Neymar.

‘I do not know, everyone is free to choose their future.

‘I hope [he leaves]. It would be less of a problem for us,’ Ramos added, as reported by Goal.

Valverde, however, insisted after the game in Miami that he expected Neymar to still be a Barcelona player come the start of the new La Liga season in August.

He said: ‘I always try to talk about things that happen rather than things that might happen. We are going to wait.

‘From my perspective, we have Neymar in our team, we count on him and we have to see.

‘I don’t want to speculate about Neymar. I see him in the same place I have seen him recently – on the pitch with us.’
