Ozil scores his first ever career hat-trick in thrashing of Ludogorets

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil scored his first ever career hat-trick in the club’s 6-0 Champions League win over Ludogorets.

Ozil was played through by a searching long ball courtesy of Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain and the 28-year-old controlled the pass with ease while not breaking stride, before stroking the ball into the back of the net with his right foot.

The former Real Madrid man was then found by Lucas Perez, who came from the bench, with a square pass before applying a right footed finish above the Ludogorets ‘keeper.

The German completed his hat-trick with a perfectly timed left footed volley, after Lucas Perez had delivered a ball at just the right height from the right wing.

Ozil also got his first assist of the season, having recorded the most in the Premier League last campaign (19), as he set up Theo Walcott for Arsenal’s second.

Arsenal were at their free-flowing best against an opposition that, at once, just couldn’t handle the options that Arsene Wenger had positioned across the field.
