Ozil wanted in China in mega-bucks transfer

Ozil wanted in China in mega-bucks transfer

MESUT OZIL has reportedly become a big target in the Chinese Super League with his Arsenal future still in doubt.

The Gunners playmaker is yet to agree terms over a contract extension at the Emirates.

And with Arsene Wenger holding off on signing a new two-year deal, Ozil remains in limbo.

The 28-year-old’s contract at Arsenal expires in the summer of 2018, meaning the club may cash in at the end of the season.

According to The Sun, Ozil is attracting interest in China, with huge offers being lined up.

The Premier League star would apparently be able to see his wages rise to around £300,000 a week in the Far East.

And clubs are looking to acquire Mesut Ozil for a ‘staggering transfer fee’.

Chinese Super League sides are ready to continue spending big ahead of new regulations being introduced on overseas players.

With top European-based talents being identified, Ozil appears to be seen as an ideal signing.

The Arsenal ace is apparently second only to Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of popularity appeal in China.

Gunners supporters have been less than happy with their key man’s performances of late, especially in big games such as last week’s 5-1 defeat at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
But reports have emerged that Ozil has been playing despite suffering from back spasms for some time, which has seen Wenger allow him time off recently.
