Perisic is very excited by Chelsea interest – agent

Ivan Perisic’s agent has suggested that the winger is very excited by reported interest from Chelsea.

Perisic has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, with incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte apparently keen to sign the 27-year-old Croatia international, who currently plays for Inter Milan.

In addition to his preferred position out wide, Perisic is also capable of operating as an attacking midfielder if required and would surely relish the opportunity to move to Chelsea, even though the club won’t be involved in the Champions League next season.

As reported by goal, Perisic’s agent Tonci Martic said: “To be linked to a club like Chelsea and a manager like Antonio Conte is very exciting for Perisic.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and Chelsea is a massive club so we would happily talk about it but a deal is far at this moment.”

Perisic has created 23 chances in Serie A this season and has scored six goals. He boasts much experience of European football, having previously played for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg.

It was confirmed this week that Conte, the current Italy manager, will take charge of Chelsea after Euro 2016 and the Italian has a significant re- building job to contend with.

Chelsea are likely to be heavily active in the transfer market, while Conte may also seek to move on several members of the current squad.

The Blues, who are currently in 10th place in the table, travel to face Swansea City this weekend and will be seeking to build upon the impressive victory that they managed to secure against Aston Villa last weekend.
