Pique reveals brutal prank Man United players played on Evra

Barcelona’s defender Gerard Pique has revealed a brutal prank the Manchester United players pulled on Patrice Evra when the two were teammates at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman reportedly waited four months for a new pairs of trainers to be delivered from Nike, and upon their arrival the United players decided to set them on fire.

“When he went for a shower, they took them and burnt them,” said Pique, as reported by the Mirror.

“What’s more, they recorded it and they sent him the video. This was the level [of practical jokes] at United.”

The two spent two years together as teammates before Pique returned to his boyhood club Barcelona, where he has enjoyed untold success.

He has become a mainstay in both Luis Enrique’s side, as well as the Spanish national team, with whom he won the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championships in 2012.

Meanwhile, Evra has also enjoyed a successful career himself, winning the Champions League, five Premier Leagues and two Serie A’s.

He moved to the Italian giants Juventus after being pushed out of Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal. The 35-year-old had been Sir Alex Ferguson’s first choice left back since his arrival in 2006 from French side AS Monaco.
