PSG without Neymar and Thiago Motta for Nice clash

Paris Saint-Germain will be without star attacker Neymar and midfielder Thiago Motta for the visit of Nice in Ligue 1 on Friday.

However, Unai Emery was able to name right-back Dani Alves in the squad after the Brazil international missed the 2-2 draw away at Marseille in Le Classique on Sunday through injury.

Thomas Meunier has also proved his fitness despite suffering from a muscular problem of late, which has dictated that the Belgium international has been used sparingly.

Neymar misses the encounter after two bookings in quick succession in Marseille landed him a first red card of his PSG career, while Emery revealed in his prematch news conference that Motta has been playing through a knee injury recently. Elsewhere, Hatem Ben Arfa has once again been omitted and Remy Descamps, as well as Alec Georgen, will be on reserve duty.

Ligue 1’s disciplinary committee will meet on Thursday evening and could decide to extend Neymar’s suspension if they see fit.
